Redesigning the Honda Motorcycle App

Honda Motor Europe (HME) wanted to revamp their motorcycle app. The former design, initially intended for a single motorbike, featured a largely horizontal layout with a navigation structure that had largely outgrown its original purpose. What was needed was a redesign from the ground up to properly showcase HME’s growing range of bikes segments.

Taking its cue from the website, the app was reimagined as a lifestyle hub for biking enthusiasts. Menus were stripped to the essentials for a clean, technical look facilitating ease of navigation and promoting motorcycle information.

Five new riding segments were created each with its own grouping of bikes. All told, more than 50 bikes were showcased. The CTA ‘Find a Dealer’ was promoted to the home screen reinforced throughout the customer journey.

In anticipation of a significant uptick in usage, the on-boarding process for new users was revamped. Navigation aids distributed throughout the app signposted existing and new functionality; from building and accessorising a custom ride to previewing the build with AR.

Additionally, to promote the launch new CRF 450 sportbike, a new features teaser video was produced.

Building a one stop resource for outboard engines.

Impressed by the work created for the motorcycle team, Honda marine approached the design team for an app experience to serve as an education resource potential buyers and showcase Honda outboard engine technology. Critical to the buying process was a “help me choose” function; a series of questions to help better refine the relevant product.
